Happy 60th Birthday, Lynne!

We love you and are grateful for the incredible gift you are in our lives...and in the lives of so many, many others.

I hope you are able to sit by your water garden and be comforted by the peaceful sounds of running water...drink in the songs of chirping birds and smell the fragrance of your flowers as they unfold and reach towards the sunlight...Remember to celebrate the present moment!

With Much love, Debbie

Hi Lynne. When I turned 60, my friends gave me "60 things we love about Kali": 60 "business" cards, each with one thing on it that they love about me. It was probably the most wonderful present I have ever received. And from the looks of this blog, you are getting "60 things we love about Lynne"! Let me add a few: your interest in people, your courage, your attentiveness, your love of learning, your way with plants, your cookies, your honesty, your willingness to speak your mind, your enjoyment of mysteries and books in general, your ability to see the good in others even when it's not real obvious, your water feature. You were the first person I ever knew who had a water feature in her garden and your enthusiasm for it was utterly charming. Happy birthday dear heart.

Kali.

Dear Lynne:

I cannot begin to say how much your wise and wonderful words have meant to me during my own difficult time. You have navigated some treacherous waters with style, grace, dignity, and class. Your words have been priceless life lessons for us all. There is no doubt that the ride has been a rough one, like you eloquently described in your saga of the Virgin River raft trip. Instead of foundering on the jagged rocks of sadness, depression, anger, or despair, you have beautifully navigated through each and all of them and continued on your journey. And by sharing that journey with all of us, you have given us a great gift.

May your thirtieth anniversary of your thirtieth birthday be full of magic and joy, and I pray you feel the love from your wonderful friends and family and even from some of us out here in cyberspace, swirl around you like a fresh spring breeze redolent with the scent of flowers from your garden. I pray you have renewed energy to be fully present in every precious moment of your upcoming vacation on the cape.

Thank you, Lynne, for casting your diamonds of wisdom my way. I have caught quite a few, and hold them close for guidance on my own journey. You are the gift that keeps on giving, and I pray it continues for a long time. You have made, and are still making this world a better place. Happy birthday!

With much gratitude,
Mike

Lynne
happy 60th birthday! May you have a day filled with happiness and love and family and friends.

I have lurked around your blog for many months. My mother was diagnosed with gallbladder cancer late last year and I was diagnosed with breast cancer not too long afterwards. Your observations, insight and wisdom have been a terrific help to me and I am very grateful. I so wish you didn't have to deal with this wretched cancer thing. But a thousand thankyous for sharing so generously on this blog - it has inspired and helped me on so many levels.

With heartfelt best wishes,
Michelle

Happy Birthday, Lynne from a fellow cancer patient! I've been fighting stage lV breast cancer for 4 years now -- 7 years total with cancer. My adult disabled son, who has been at risk for his entire life of 31 years, and I greet every day with "Hurray! It's a good day! We both woke up!"
Since my mets diagnosis I left a marriage of 35 years, met a wonderful new man, and bought my first house, all on my own. I've chosen to live as though I'm living, which I am! My birthday was last week so it looks like we're both Gemini's. I never expected to reach 64 but I'm still here and having a great time. I volunteer for our local hospice as I want to give back to caregivers and patients alike. I love what I'm doing. It's a truly spiritual experience and a privaledge for me to be able to give comfort to those who need it the most.
May you celebrate your special day as I did mine...surrounded by those who love you and filled with gratitude for another day spent with loved ones.
I've just found your blog and plan to read the whole thing. My second patient (I'm new to hospice work) was 63 and had gall bladder cancer. Sadly, she hid it from her grown children until she entered hospice care. I treasure the hours I spent with her as she gradually lost her fear and found peace. I've learned so much about this rare form of cancer and I can't wait to learn more from you.
It seems we have gardening in common, too. This year, I planted perennials which is truly optimistic! Last spring I was too weak from treatment to do much more than water the hanging plants.
We have 2 bird feeders and as we back to woods we get to watch our feathered friends all day long. My 2 cats rest on our deep windowsills enjoying their view of the birds as they come and go.
My best to you on this special day. Indulge yourself with your favorite foods!

Wow! Lots of good wishes from a lot of people who recognize that you are one special lady! I realize this is very late, but wanted to included in the list of people who love and admire you and who wishes the best for you.
Hope your time in P-town brings you peace and serenity when looking at the ocean, good times and fun, when enjoying your family and enough energy that is all works out!
